final draft

Every human has risk taking behavior, but not on the external factors but it is innate.

What do you think about taking risks

If we are to learn something, we have to take risks. If we want something, we have to take risks. We would have no friends if we had not tried to take risks such as taking to someone who do not know well. There would have been no USA today if nobody had dared to venture out and thus discovered the new world. There would be no things like space-shuttle if everybody had just wanted to play safe on the gorund and satisfied. There would have been no country like USA if nobody had tried to go out and find the new land. And even we would not be in existance if our parents didn't take risks to marry each other. Because of these reasons, it is easy to think because we are risk taker, we gained many things. However did you know that we are naturally born to be a risk taker? We are not taking risks again and again because we know the incentives that comes along with taking risks. We are just born to take risks.

Every day we take risks. Risk is, by nature, a scary thing. We can't predict the results and most of the times it is uncertain. There is a possibility to lose something that you think most preciously. The rewards can be great, but so can the cost. But when we are to choose whether to take risks, we usually take them. It is because we get many benefits from it. However there are something bigger than that about why we take risks. So to speak, we are born to take risks. Many studies have suggested that every human are risk takers by nature. The study got through an experiment and found out that when we get rewarded for a risk taking behavior, endorphin which is a kind of hormone secreting in our brain so that we are more obsessed to repeat such actions. Also the genetic makeup works in this place that it is likely that the son of the risk taker take another risk. And the mind offers an equally compelling reason why people do risk things. Also socialist, Sigmund Freud(1856), insisted that it is important to note that we cannot reasonably divide the population into risk takers and risk avoiders. All people will both seek risk and avoid risk at different points in their lives. But one thing we need to be aware is we must be risk takers. Sociologists and other experts believe that risk taking is the very basic personality types that every human natually have.

If people ignore my opinion then they will finish their lifes without recognizing every their risk taking behavior is out of by nature, and think they have lived their life meaningless and keep looking at those risk taker as a strange or surprising aboriginal thing, then, even though we have much more space to evolve and make a wonderful history, we will remain still leaving our wonderful characteristic unnecessary thing.

Hormone which is released in our brain, endorphin, gives us a strong reason why risk taking behavior is innate. Endorphin is what the brain releases in response to danger. One neurobiologist, Candace Pert(1946), discovered that endorphins enable us to balance the rush of adrenaline that flows into our bloodstreams during dangerous moments and to think calm thus giving us the ability to focuse the attention to the important problem despite the confusing surrounding. Also Pert said that because we have much developed sensitivity to endorphins, certain early humans are able to gain gave survival advantage, thus making possible the succedding of the genes to the other generation.

There are also many early people who took risks. Ancient people in Paleolithic Age probably wandered off to find resources to set up the base and found many tools, which can be considered as early human risk takers. They invented a lot of weapons and started to adapt to the environment by creating such a thing like animal trapping and plot to preserve the foods. Such actions not only benefited their tribe even they had to deal with the dangers posed to them, but also triggered considerable excitement so that we the later people call those a risk taking behavior.
Because of the ancestor's genes have succeeded to our generation, in this modern life, we are taking a lot of risks that are adapted to our situation and also the desire for such action still runs strong in our genetic makeup. Also the convincing reason of the continuation of the genetic characteristics is that the positive reinforcement is given to risk taker. This trait is strengthened by the societies.

There are many who still believes risk taking is unique trait only a minority of people share. However, as evidences tells us, risk taking trait is not what our generation has made or created but it is succeeded to our society without discontinuance. We are mentally and psychologically born as a risk taker by our ancestors and perhaps we are physically made to take risk. Thus every human is a risk taker by nature.

There are plenty of people who deny my opinion since mine is not popular one though correct. Those people who refute my opinion take examples such as 'Dr. Martin Lalumière', 'teens taking risks', which are incorrect. Dr. Martin Lalumière(2006) insists that social constructions such as systemic inequality and competitive disadvantage usually make people to become as a risk taker. And this is thought to be making my opinion weaker. However, Sigmund Freud's said, risk taking is human's innate personality. The thing that we are innate risk takers is not changing. Maybe, because we are risk taker we can step even further step to the equality. In addition, what if we haven't had the characteristics like risk taking before we commit a crime. Maybe it is a paradox itself to deny that risk taking is innate personality.

There are also many of whom use example about teens who are taking more extreme risks even frequently based on the environmental surroundings such as peer pressure and other's eye to refute my opinion, to oppose my opinion. However, According to  Agnieszka Tymula(2012), student at New York University who had done a research and published a book in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, it was found that children are not taking more risks than adults but they are more likely to take more risks than usual only in particular situations like when they can't guess the consequences.
Also, teens can't be considered in the category of the adults since the pre-frontal cortex develops later than the amygdala. Because teens like new things and want to seek something that isn't common, their the under developed brain, pre-frontal cortex, is not working as a well developed controller. They are incapable of understanding the consequences of what they have caused. Teens rather are more likely to decide something on their impulse rather than some kind of standard and not somsidering the ultimate consequences it will cause.

When living our lives, sometimes, we may be shy to do something extreme or maybe the eyes of the other people would look you as a strange person so that you can't take a further step to advance that involves risk taking. However, don't forget to know that every people do have risk taking behaviors. Maybe there might be no other common thing than this in the world. The chemical thing called Endorphin supports strongly that we are a risk taker. Also this kind of trait was shown on our ancestors too. We are now in the middle of risk taking. And It is not what you can and cannot do. You are born to be a risk taker because every little thing contains risks. Think about it. If there were no risk taking behaviors then how could we be born in this world, what if our mom and dad did not determine to marry which is part of taking risk. We are now making our own world because of the trait that every human being shares, risk taking.

My Topic:
Every human has risk taking behavior, but not on the external factors but it is innate.

What I hope to learn from this source:
I want to know the specific things about people taking risks

Notes:
  1. Kellogg management professor Camelia M. Kuhnen has found that a gene called DRD4 — which regulates hormone levels in the reward center of your brain — predicts whether you're likely to become a pathological gambler or a risk-loving stock market trader.
  2. People who like to stay up late do riskier things.
  3. If you're used to taking risks, you'll keep taking risks.
  4. Happier people take more risks.
Final Thoughts:
I think there are many reasons why people take risks but i concluded that the main thing is that we are naturally risk takers but sometimes determined differently by other environmental factors. I think this source helped me a lot confirming my topic.

What I hope to learn from this source:
I wanted to know why people who think the opposite of me. And by this thinking more about this idea, I could make confirm with my topic rather than only nodding to their thoughts.
Notes:
  1. risk taking and crime was done by the social and environmental factors that increase or decrease these behaviours.
  2. While there is a large body of evidence that has linked inequality with any number of society's ills, there has never been a causal analysis of the relationship – until now.
  3. "All of the evidence suggests that systemic inequality and competitive disadvantage facilitate risk taking, of which criminal activity is an extreme form," says Mishra
Final Thoughts:
I found that people take risks because of the environmetal backgrounds but i was able to refute their ideas by thinking that if there were no risk taking traits by nature, we would rather conform to this social structure and stay passive. I was able to make my idea even strong with other people's opinion.

first draft

Life is a series of choice. We used to choose something, we are choosing something now, we will choose something in the future. We must choose something and that's what life is. We are in the middle of the continuance of the choice. Are you just going to choose whatever you want? Even doesn't matter? No of course not. Everyone wants to live their own happy lives even that choice can involve certain risk. We usually regard those who jump into risk and do what others might not try as risk taker thinking there is a big wall between those people and normal us. However, we are also a big risk taker. If you are doing something, you are a risk taker. If you are doing nothing, then, you are even more a risk taker. Every human being is a risk taker.

Typically when people are asked about the most important traits entrepreneur is needed, they say, it is definitely risk taking behavior. Entrepreneur is a person who is attempting new things even the thing involves some kind of danger. And it is commonly recognized that there are huge differences between the entrepreneur and normal people like us. However,
there are two facts we, the normal people, are missing. The first thing is we confine the word "risk taking" to the person like entrepreneur not regarding the mundane faculties and the other risks we, the normal people, are taking. For example, there were two man. One said, "You're an entrepreneur. You are out there trying things. Either you will succeed, or you will fail. That makes you a risk taker". But the other man replyed, "No but you are much big risk taker. You work for someone else. If your boss or somebody else makes a mistake, the whole company could go down, which might have nothing to do with you. Your fate may be in someone else's hands. That's pretty risky". Who do you think is more riskier? Both of them. They both are risk taker. Also, becuase we are always in the middle of choice and option, we are the so-called risk taker too. The other is we all have risk taking behaviors. Actually we must have risk taking behaviors. The study got through an experiment and found out that when we get rewarded for a risk taking behavior, endorphin which is a kind of hormone rsecretes in our brain so that we are more obsessed to repeat such actions. Also the genetic makeup works in this place that it is likely that the son of the risk taker take another risk. And the mind offers an equally compelling reason why people do risk things.

In these days, the idea that every human has risk taking traits are getting stronger. There are many studies that found variation of risk taker personality. Scientists could be one great example. Sociobiologist E. O. Wilson has commented, "Scientists spend their productive lives struggling to reach the edge of knowledge in order to make discoveries." Just as the mountaineer risks death or injury to reach the summit of a difficult climb, these scientists risk ridicule and failure to discover answers.

If what i've insisted so far is true, then, human will evolve remarkably to the given and changing environmemt. We will eventually adapt to it. However if people ignore the argument and keep looking at those risk taker as a strange or surprising aboriginal thing, then, even though we have much more space to evolve and make a wonderful history, we will remain still leaving our wonderful characteristic unnecessary thing.

Endorphin gives us a strong reason why risk taking could have become a widespread human characteristic. Endorphin is what the brain releases in response to imminent physical danger. One neurobiologist, Candace Pert, discovered that endorphins enable us to balance the rush of adrenaline that flows into our bloodstreams during dangerous moments with cool, calm thinking and an ability to give undivided attention to crucial matters despite the surrounding chaos. Also Pert believes that greater sensitivity to endorphins gave certain early humans a survival advantage, and this made sure the succedding of the genes to the other generation.

Early human risk takers were probably more likely to wander off established trails, possibly finding a new source of water or game. Such individuals might also have risked being seen as different in order to invent a new kind of weapon or animal trap, or to try eating a new plant or other potential food item. These acts would have triggered a pleasurable excitement in the risk taker, but might also have profoundly benefited his or her group.

This trait is strengthened by the societies

We are mentally and psychologically born as a risk taker by our ancestors and perhaps we are physically made to take risk. Every human is a risk taker.

Still there are many who think the oppostite of me and I partly believe the same way with them. Those people suggest many powerful reasons. They say taking risk is rather a way to lose chance, defining a risk taking acts as participating in a war with nothing worn, not properly equppied. However, they are missing a big thing. Don't you think waiting for complete ready could be rather another chance of risk taking. As I have mentioned before, our life is in the middle of the choice, if we chose something to happen, we should have responsibility for that choice and have to choose another thing. Don't you think staying still is nothing but just agreeing to take a another risk. Then another people can still insist that only the minority has the risk taking behaviors. I can say the same thing i have said. They are only confining risk taker to the extreme things but we do take risks in our mundane faculties without conscious.

When living our lives, sometimes, we may be shy to take a risk or mabye the eyes of the other people would look you as a strange person so that you can't take a further step to advance that involves risk taking. However, don't forget to know that every people do risk taking behaviors and that it is totally common thing. Maybe there might be no other common thing than this in the world. Even those who looks you the strange way take risks unconsciously. We are now in the middle of risk taking. And It is not you can or you have the right to take risks. You are born to be risk takers because every little thing contains risks. Think about it. When living our lives, sometimes, we may be shy to take a risk or mabye the eyes of the other people would look you as a strange person so that you can't take a further step to advance that involves risk taking. Refutation and Concession

Instructions:
1. Answer the following questions.
2. Write your own refutation and concession.

1. What is my thesis?
Every human has risk taking behavior.

2. What is the opposite position?
Actually there are even a lot who want to keep their the status quo rather avoiding the risk.

3. What arguments can I anticipate?
a) (Taking risk is rather a way to lose chance)  b)(we are not always equipped) c)(only the minority has the risk taking behaviors)
4. How will I counter those arguments?
a),b)waiting for completely equipped could rather be another risk taking
c)we do risk taking behaviors in our mundane faculties without conscious.

My Refutation and Concession

The Confirmation

Instructions:
1. Answer the following questions.
2. Write your confirmation.
3. Start linking to your sources.

Endorphins gives us a strong reason why risk taking could have become a widespread human characteristic. Endorphin is what the brain releases in response to imminent physical danger. One neurobiologist, Candace Pert, discovered that endorphins enable us to balance the tremendous rush of adrenaline that flows into our bloodstreams during dangerous moments with cool, calm thinking and an ability to give undivided attention to crucial matters despite the surrounding chaos.

However, as the evidence tells us, risk taking trait is not what out generation has made or created but it is succeeded to our society without discontinuance. We are mentally and psychologically born as a risk taker by our ancestors and perhaps we are physically made to take risk. Every human is a risk taker.

I've got helped a lot from this source so..

The narration

Instructions:
1. Write your thesis.
2. Answer questions 1, 2 and 3.
3. Write your Narration.

Many people are denying that risk taking behavior is based on the external eIn these days, the idea that every human has risk taking traits are getting stronger.

If what i've insisted so far is true, then, human will evolve remarkably to the given and changing environment. We will eventually adapt to it. However if people ignore argument and keep looking at those risk taker as a strange or surprising aboriginal thing, then, even though we have much more space to evolve and make a wonderful history, we will remain still leaving our wonderful characteristic unnecessary thing.

My Topic:
Every human being has risk taking behavior.

What I hope to learn from this source:
I want to find out the negative side of the risk taking behaviors.

Notes:
1.if you take more risks you get more opportunities.
2. We can Eliminate Risks You Don’t Need To Take
3. we can be more ready and equipped when actually we thought we need to take a risk.

Final Thoughts:
I wanted to know why some think risk taking behavior is not needed rather should be avoided so I can prepare the refutation. With this source i was able to know their arguments and also learned to know how to make my thesis more strong. I can do it well!

introduction

Every human being has risk taking behavior.

The introduction:
  1. Attracts the audience.
  2. Explains the topic.
  3. Declares the thesis of your argument.

Intro.

Life is a series of choice. We used to choose something, we are choosing something now, we will choose something in the future. We must choose something and that's what life is. We are in the middle of the continuance of the choice. Our life is a choice.

Classical argument outline

1. The introduction
I will start by taking one example with a extraordinary person that has risk taking characteristics. Then i will take another example that is common feature that is all inherent in every person. And remind people that there is no differce between the first and the second one showing they are all risk taking behavior which is involved in human action and intention. I will end with my thesis, "Every human has risk taking behavior."

2. The narration
I will collect and summarize all my researches i have gone through and  show some studies that tells us the involuntary risk taking behaviors. Also, I will redefine the true meaning of risk taking that readers can understand the real meaning of  "risk taking".

3. The confirmation
I will explain the existence of the endorphins and why this substance is created in our brain so that risk taking characteristics must be included in our behavior. I will show that the society gives risk takers positive behavioral reinforcement so that it will virtually guarantee the continuation of the genetic characteristics that make individuals to take risks. I will also mention about the teens who are forced to take risks because of social structure made by their peers.
4. The refutation and concession
I will concede that there actually are people who want to stay still without any change if the change accompanies some kind of risk. Such as people not changing the job. However, i will reemphasize that we do risk taking behaviors involunarily in our daily lives without notice.
5. The summation
I will lastly summarize with rearranging the examples which show that we do risk taking behaviors impliedly. And I will end with reemphasizing my thesis again.

Articulate

1) My argument
I want to argue that Everyone has risk taking personality.  There are some statistics that shows people usually avoid risk taking rather remaining where they would be. But taking many sources and research i would like to argue every person has risk taking personality.

2) How I found my argument
As i change my topic i must make another list of research question. My first research question would be, 'who do we refer to risk taker?' To this quesiton, i was curious whether the mundane performer is a risk taker. Nornally it is hard to say opposite. Second research question was 'is there any personality that everyone has both in common'.  I thought there would be. Another research guestion was what is the meaning of the risk taking? I thought risk taking can mean many things even mandane faculties. And these helped me select my topic as 'Everyone has risk taking personality.'

3) New research questions
I have several questions that need to be resolved.
a)  Does risk taking personality work as a way to get to a success.
b)  Good examples (and also bad examples that worked by risk taking personality) .
c) Is risk taking all inherently involved in our nature?
I'll continue browsing the internet and looking for interesting articles and keeping track of my research with blog posts.

4) Connections to the Harvard Sampler
This argument has many connections to the Harvard Sampler. First, it is totally related to the Human mind. Human mind is a research considering the phychological side of the human personality and i thought this could connect the Harvard Sampler (what we are studing now) and my topic(What i will study in the future when i go to the college)
